Pigeon toes

Knock knees

Bow legs

Flat feet

Frequent tripping

Night pain or pain with excessive activity

Rapid fatigue or wanting to be picked up constantly

Excessive wear patterns on shoes

If you child experiences any of the above symptoms contact your Podiatrist for an assessment and advice.

Heel and Arch Pain (Spurs/Plantarfasciitis)

Heel pain can be caused by a variety of reasons, at Podiatry Professionals we closely test and diagnose the cause of your heel pain and treat appropriately. Everyone’s feet are different and require individual treatment. Plantarfasciitis and heel spurs are the most common causes of pain in this area followed by Achilles tendon problems and bursitis. We are very experienced at treating these conditions as we see them everyday!

Shin splints

‘Shin splints’ is a broad term grouping several conditions such as tibial stress fractures, medial tibial stress syndrome (MTSS), periostitis, compartment syndrome and calf overuse to name a few. Poor foot function is often one of the leading causes of shin pain. Improving your foot biomechanics and getting the right type of shoe are things your podiatrist can assist you with.

Knee pain/Patello-Femoral Syndrome

Similiar to shin pain, imbalances in the knee are commonly influenced by abnormal foot function. Incorrect patella movements and rotational problems can cause pain and swelling in and around the knee. Correcting these biomechanical problems can provide significant pain relief and improve knee function. This is particularly evident after knee surgery.

Neuromas/Numbness

Neuromas are painful nerve growths normally located between the metatarsals in the forefoot. They often cause sharp, shooting pain which can be debilitating yet they are something that can be effectively treated by your podiatrist. Numbness due to a variety of reasons such as Diabetes, underlying medical conditions, impinged nerves and poor footwear can be addressed with appropriate treatment.

Arthritis/Bunions

Arthritic joints are sometimes inevitable with age but that doesn’t mean they can’t be treated. Although the arthritic process of painful, swollen joints can’t be reversed, they can be managed and treated effectively. The big toe joint is a common area to develop arthritis and secondary issues such as bunions can prove a major problem with sport and daily activities. It is important to see us at Podiatry Professionals early with arthritis and bunions in order to prevent further joint damage developing.

Skin and Nail Conditions

Ingrown nails are very delicate and often very painful. At Podiatry Professionals we are experts at treating these effectively to give the best short and long term result. Callous, corns and warts can also be very uncomfortable but are very treatable by experienced Podiatrists.
